Long time no see

well i started school and i know this blog craves albums so here is some good $Hit 4 u

Minks are a captured tracks band (shit this whole blog is so captured tracks) that sound a bit like the cure and are reminiscent of the 80s the guitarwork is really rad and so are the vocals if you dig that whole blank dogs style of unintelligible vocals

Dream Boat could be classified as a "witch house" band what with them sampling oOoOO but don't let this fool you, "Your Beaches" really hit me hard and this album isn't trying to be lumped into groups- definitely worth checking out

ARCH M

Arch M's music is pretty hard to describe...most of it is lo-fi (so of course I dig it) and all is FREE...he has three album links on his last.fm page (http://www.last.fm/music/arch+m) Grab Land Huxt and Mountain tan commercials...My fav tracks are MLK jr Blvd off Land Huxt...It really brings about a sense of nostalgia and sounds not of this time period, such a trick done by Ariel Pink or some chillwave artists. Cat Grave(off Mountain tan) which is a simple lo-fi drum machine backed summer guitar jam..the vocals don't kick in until midway but you are anxiously waiting for the song to transition and transition it does with heavily reverberated vocals and a full on assult of tape hiss and distortion

Grimes are a new Canadian drum machine driven female vocalist backed band that few people have heard about but need to check out! It reminds me of Zola Jesus if she was less goth and incorporated more instruments and abandoned the minimalistic approach to her music. Though I wouldn't compare Grimes to anyone...she's going to be blowing up soon
